Turn2us x Royal London - Tackling Stigma & Building Financial Security

Royal London

Client: Turn2us

Royal London believes it has a responsibility to support the financial resilience of its customers and wider society. With living costs placing increasing pressure on household finances, research shows that people’s ability to save, plan for retirement, and build long term resilience is being affected. At the same time, access to financial support is often prevented by complexity and stigma. Royal London established a partnership with Turn2us in 2020, with a shared ambition that people have the tools and support they need during financial hardship. Over five years, Royal London has donated and raised more than £2 million for Turn2us. From 2020-2024, the partnership focused on raising awareness of financial support available. Achievements include funding over 200,000 helpline calls, national Pension Credit campaigns reaching up to 61 million people, and support for the launch of the Turn2us PIP Helper, which reached an estimated 36.4 million people. Recognising that financial insecurity is increasingly driven by systemic barriers, the partnership has evolved. In 2025, we committed to a £2 million, three year partnership focused on reducing stigma, normalising access to support, and influencing long term social change – kicking off with Royal London’s support of critical research and a long-term influencing campaign.
