The Hygiene Bank and Boots UK fight hygiene poverty across the UK

Boots

Client: The Hygiene Bank

The Hygiene Bank (THB) and Boots have been fighting hygiene poverty since the partnership began in 2019 after Lizzy Hall, THB’s founder, won the Women of the Year Award, sponsored by Boots. Boots joined THB as founding and official retail partner and has displayed an unwavering commitment to THB's mission, ending hygiene poverty. Since the partnership began, Boots has provided support through donation points in stores -which are matched monthly with Boots donations, delivering collaborative campaigns as well as donating funds to THB. In 2022 Boots sponsored groundbreaking research to understand hygiene poverty in the UK. In 2023, THB was chosen ‘Boots Christmas Charity of the Year’, benefiting THB with an additional product donation of 100,000 hygiene products.

The partnership has also garnered immense public support, resulting in nearly 90 tons of in-store product donations through the drop-off points that are growing exponentially. This partnership stands as a shining example of corporate responsibility, community engagement and innovative solutions to address a critical societal issue that we must solve, hygiene poverty. The tangible outcomes and ongoing initiatives underscore the success and sustainability of this impactful partnership, impacting the lives of thousands of people experiencing hygiene poverty in the UK.
