The Barratt Foundation

The Barratt Foundation

The Barratt Foundation is the new charity that represents Barratt Developments PLC, including Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Barratt London, across its charitable work. The Foundation was established in 2020 and launched in 2021 to mark the 500,000th home built by Barratt Developments PLC.

Operating across England, Wales and Scotland, the Foundation’s objective is to be a leading force for good in the housebuilding, construction and wider corporate philanthropy sector, by growing and supporting grantmaking, fundraising and volunteering across Barratt Developments PLC.

It does this through the following programme areas: • Partnerships & Grants – giving grants and establishing partnerships with leading charities • Divisional Giving – enabling Barratt Divisions to make a difference in their local community via local grantmaking • Employee Engagement – encouraging and supporting Barratt employees to fundraise and volunteer in their local community

The Foundation’s investment in charitable programmes and activities has increased year on year since launch, giving £1.2m to charities in 2020/21, £3.8m in 2021/22 and £4.1m in 22/23. Whilst the Foundation is able to donate to a wide variety of charities, we currently direct our support into the following four focus areas: • social inclusion • nature & the environment • promoting physical and mental health • education and opportunity
