Parkinson’s UK won The Access Group staff vote as their Charity of the Year for 2022-23 and ended up raising almost £1 million.

Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world for which there is no cure.Led by two employees whose fathers had Parkinson’s, The Access Group were unstoppable in their fundraising which included virtual carolling, marathons, company -wide bake sales, gala ball and silent auctions. 50 staff members joined a group skydive which raised over £25,000, and all matched pound for pound by the company. In addition, two grants from The Access Foundation were awarded. £80,000 went towards the Emergency Grants Programme supporting people living with Parkinson's through the cost of living crisis. The second grant of just over £300,000 funded almost 3 new Parkinson’s nurse posts, directly supporting over 1000 people living with the condition. With the Parkinson’s healthcare service stretched to breaking point, not everyone has access to this quality care, which for many is an absolute lifeline. The partnership between The Access Group and Parkinson’s UK has directly impacted those affected by Parkinson’s, left a legacy within the NHS workforce and helped fund vital research which will hopefully one day, find that cure.
