Taylor Wimpey & St Mungo’s: Working Together to Rebuild Lives

Taylor Wimpey

Client: St Mungo's

Taylor Wimpey is submitting the following application to the Business Charity Awards highlighting our partnership with the homelessness charity, St Mungo’s. Since 2017, we have been helping to support St Mungo’s clients recovering from homelessness to gain new skills and find employment through the charity’s accredited training programme, Construction Skills.

Rough sleeping is an isolating and traumatising experience which can leave those experiencing it with little hope for the future. Additionally, many will have spent significant periods out of employment, meaning they lack the skills, experience and confidence the re-enter the workplace. Construction Skills helps to meet these needs through a supportive and encouraging environment where clients can access training in a variety of specialist construction skills whilst working towards a City & Guilds qualification, and ultimately employment. From providing on-going support of Construction Skills in London, and subsequently helping to set up a brand new Construction Skills programme in Leicester, to providing financial support so that St Mungo’s could set up an emergency food bank to support their clients during the covid-19 pandemic, everyone at Taylor Wimpey are proud of what we have been able to achieve together, helping people to recover from homelessness and rebuild their lives.
