Stride by the Clyde
Virgin Money
Client: Mind and Scottish Action for Mental Health
To celebrate the second year of Virgin Money’s partnership with Mind and SAMH, our Community Team created Stride by the Clyde - a unifying 17 mile fundraising walk from Glasgow to Dumbarton Castle. The challenge invited colleagues from across the UK to connect through physical activity, shared purpose, and community spirit.
Over 200 colleagues took part, raising £70,000. Participants represented all areas of Virgin Money, from Branch teams and Senior Leaders to Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Finance, creating a uniquely collaborative campaign that connected colleagues who rarely have the chance to meet. Walking is one of the most accessible ways to support positive mental health, and the event was intentionally designed around the benefits of physical movement, time outdoors, being side by side with colleagues and the chance for conversations to flow naturally. The event fostered a supportive, uplifting atmosphere where relationships strengthened, and colleagues experienced the wellbeing benefits of shared activity. The event was a major logistical effort delivered collaboratively across Community, Health & Safety, Communications, and Operations teams, and supported by external partners, Stride by the Clyde exceeded fundraising expectations, deepened engagement with our charity partners, and highlighted Virgin Money’s commitment to improving mental health for UK communities.
