Guide Dogs works to support people with sight loss live active independent lives, including through a number of dog services. Guide Dogs uses years of expert knowledge to ensure the dogs they breed and train are happy and comfortable doing the job they’re trained for—which includes a complicated process of tracking 37 behaviors (1800 data points) per dog, currently tracked manually and locally. To streamline this process, Guide Dogs partnered with volunteers from Salesforce, who provided research, design and technical support, to build an app that makes monitoring and guiding a dog’s progress faster, more collaborative, and easier to analyze.
