P&O Cruises and Teenage Cancer Trust – Improving the Journey for Young People Facing Cancer

P&O Cruises / Carnival UK Group

Client: Teenage Cancer Trust

In 2015, P&O Cruises and Teenage Cancer Trust joined forces with the aim of raising £100k over three years to support young people facing cancer across the UK. Fast forward seven years, including a global pandemic which saw P&O Cruises entire fleet grounded for 18 months and fundraising all but halted, and we are incredibly proud to be racing towards the £700k mark. P&O Cruises has fully embraced the weird and wonderful ideas Teenage Cancer Trust has bought to the table and, working collaboratively, has delivered a rich mix of onboard guest engagement, cause-related marketing, staff fundraising and volunteering.

The fact that our partnership has been relaunched so quickly, while the industry still recovers and rebuilds consumer confidence post-pandemic, is testament to the strength of the culture and belief surrounding our partnership. Whether on land or at sea, the entire P&O Cruises family has passionately thrown itself behind the cause, and to date has funded over 23,000 hours of specialist nursing care. Care which ensures that young people and their families have the dedicated support they need to face cancer head-on and navigate their toughest moments. Crucially, P&O Cruises has helped ensure that no young person faces cancer alone.
