DPD and Make-A-Wish UK partner to grant 100 wishes for critically ill children

One child every hour is diagnosed with a critical illness that makes them eligible for a wish. Make-A-Wish UK exists to bring joy and hope by granting wishes to these critically ill children when they need it most. In 2025, they teamed up with UK parcel company DPD and set an ambitious goal: to ‘deliver’ 100 once-in-a-lifetime wishes together.

While DPD regularly engages in charitable activities, normally supporting good causes local to our depots, in 2025 we chose to take this even further. At the beginning of 2025, we partnered with Make-A-Wish UK, a charity dedicated to bringing joy to children with critical illnesses by granting their wishes.

DPD identified staff were motivated by consistent communications, sharing their dedication and fundraising updates. DPD produced both internal and external content so that they’d be inspired and empowered to keep up the momentum to deliver funding for wishes throughout the year.

DPD staff raised over £100,000 and with matched funding in place from DPD’s charity fund, it brought the total to £200,000 – sufficient to grant 100 wishes, but also sparking a partnership continuation into and throughout 2026.
