Disaster relief in Ukraine

Convatec

Client: Disasters Emergency Committee

Following the onset of war in Ukraine in February 2022, we wanted to do everything we could to support humanitarian relief efforts in the region. With a centrally coordinated effort from colleagues, we supported our charitable partners with contributions valued over $1.5 million.

Our contribution included over $1.3 million (UK retail value) of products across wound, ostomy, continence and critical care and infusion care. These were deployed to NGO partners in Poland (Polish Red Cross) and Slovakia (Ukraine-Slovakia SOS) who arranged their distribution to partner hospitals in Ukraine.

Additionally, through a series a monetary contributions, we donated over $250,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) – an alliance that includes members such as the Red Cross, Plan International, and the International Rescue Committee – equating to one month’s supply of emergency food for 4,000 families or essential hygiene supplies for 20,000 people.

Together, our product and cash donations helped thousands of people manage their chronic conditions and meet their practical needs during difficult times.
