Digital Innovation: For Refugees and for our Future
Arm UK
Agency: UNHCR
Since 2023, Arm and UK for UNHCR have been working together in collaboration with UNHCR’s Innovation Service. Together, Arm and UNHCR harness the power of technology and innovation to tackle the complex challenges faced by refugees and host communities, whilst scaling impactful solutions for global humanitarian benefit. Through this ambitious partnership, Arm and UNHCR are committed to delivering measurable, long-term benefits for displaced communities worldwide, positioning innovation as a cornerstone of UNHCR’s humanitarian response.
With Arm’s support, UNHCR’s Innovation Service has advanced numerous impactful projects. These include advancing labour mobility pathways, boosting food security through regenerative agriculture and food waste redirection, addressing environmental degradation, enhancing UNHCR’s communication with communities, using data to pre-empt disease outbreaks, improving microfinancing opportunities for refugee entrepreneurs. Through a skill-sharing programme, Arm volunteers have actively supported UNHCR projects, accelerating progress. Additionally, Arm colleagues have contributed by serving on steering committees to assess and select innovative proposals. This collaboration has fostered a deeper partnership and amplified our collective impact, driving meaningful change for the communities we serve.
