Client: BIG Alliance
Islington is a Borough of stark contrasts. It is home to global financial hubs and world-class law firms, yet it simultaneously houses some of the UK’s most deprived neighbourhoods. This proximity - where extreme wealth and systemic struggle sit side-by-side - is the heart of the CoRe Programme. This collaborative initiative is led by the Macquarie Group, Slaughter and May, and Expedia Group, and is delivered by the BIG Alliance. We embed teams of skilled employee volunteers within small and grassroot non-profit organisations across Islington, to address their current operational and strategic challenges. The CoRe Programme has transformed the landscape for Islington’s grassroots organisations, delivering measurable improvements in their sustainability and reach. By connecting skilled volunteers with local organisations, we have empowered over 100 community partners to increase their capacity, improve capability and enhance long-term financial sustainability, building lasting resilience.
Our vision for social change is an Islington where local community organisations - the essential lifelines for mental health, youth empowerment, and poverty relief - are robust enough to weather any economic storm. We help organisations facing tough challenges access the expertise and support they need to thrive
