BGF Employee Engagement Initiative

BGF

Client: BGF Foundation

BGF’s Employee Engagement Initiative is a structured Social Impact Days programme, delivered through the BGF Foundation, that embeds charitable engagement into the firm’s culture. Every employee receives two paid days annually to contribute skills-based volunteering, pro bono advice, mentoring and beneficiary-facing support.

The initiative aligns with BGF’s mission to scale ambitious UK businesses and the Foundation’s mission to help youth charities grow sustainably. Colleagues apply the same expertise used to support over 350 portfolio companies – across strategy, finance, governance, digital, people and growth – to strengthen the core infrastructure of charities supporting underserved young people across the UK, including organisations focused on education, employment, enterprise, physical wellbeing and mental health.

Delivery is needs-led. Charity partners identify priority capability gaps, the Foundation matches them with relevant BGF expertise, and support is delivered through consultations, phased projects and direct youth engagement.

In 2025, 96 colleagues (51% of the workforce) contributed 700 hours across eight UK offices, with skills-based support increasing 11% year-on-year. Interventions strengthened governance, improved digital efficiency, enhanced financial resilience and supported growth planning.

The result is measurable benefit across three levels: stronger, more resilient charities; expanded opportunity for young people; and a deeply embedded culture of purpose across BGF.
