For 25 years, Barclays’ Make a Difference campaign has been the bank’s flagship volunteering initiative, uniting colleagues across the company to support the communities where they live and work. What began in 2000 as a single UK-based volunteering day has grown into an international, months long movement involving thousands of colleagues each year. The campaign now spans October and November, offering a wide range of opportunities – from skills-based volunteering workshops to large-scale community action and global initiatives. In 2025, its 25th anniversary year, more than 7,500 colleagues volunteered globally (up 23% on 2024) – contributing over 28,000 hours, with more than half of activities focused on skills-based support.
