Kate has run the innocent foundation since 2013. It's an independent grant-making charity set up by innocent drinks in 2004 to tackle hunger in the developing world. She is responsible for establishing partnerships with innovative NGOs implementing malnutrition research and food security projects abroad, and for engaging innocent's employees and consumers in the foundation's work. Kate also advises other businesses, corporate foundations and family foundations on how to develop an effective giving strategy. Prior to her move to the foundation world, Kate spent her early career at BP and Lloyds Banking Group in a variety of marketing and project management roles. A career break volunteering in Africa sowed the seed for a move to the not-for-profit sector, and in 2010 she joined Camfed, a leading NGO in the field of girls' education and women's empowerment in sub-Saharan Africa, where she was Head of Grant Management.
