The Money House

Berkeley Foundation, JP Morgan Chase Foundation & L&Q Foundation and MyBnk

The Money House (TMH) is delivered by leading financial education charity MyBnk. It is run in collaboration with funders the Berkeley Foundation, JP Morgan Chase Foundation and L&Q Foundation, with additional support from Greenwich, Newham, and Westminster Councils, independent living charity Settle, and the Behavioural Insights Team.

TMH is an innovative, effective and impactful homelessness prevention programme supporting care leavers to develop secure money management skills and live independently. The programme has a strong evidence base and a proven track record. Its non-traditional setting, engaging and informal approach, and ability to constantly learn, adapt and improve are all key constituent parts of its success. This is shown in its expansion into Westminster in 2019.

Underpinning all of this is MyBnk’s proactive approach to collaboration and partnership working. This has enabled the programme to integrate successfully into three very different Local Authority settings. It has seen its many stakeholders, whether funders, delivery partners or referral organisations, play an active role in its governance and future development.

The Money House is already helping hundreds of young Londoners to live independently and avoid homelessness each year. We believe it has all the key ingredients in place to reach hundreds more.
