The Berkeley Group builds homes and neighbourhoods and is a publicly owned company listed on the London Stock Exchange as a FTSE 100 company. In 2014 the Berkeley Group won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, and it was voted Britain’s second Most Admired Company across all industries in 2017 by Management Today. The Berkeley Group launched the Berkeley Foundation in 2011, and this became a registered charity in 2013. So far, the Foundation has committed more than £12.7m to support Berkeley’s local communities, reaching more than 100 charities. The Lord’s Taverners Disability Cricket Championship was launched in 2013 by the Lord’s Taverners in partnership with the Berkeley Foundation. The programme aims to provide disabled young people with access to year round inclusive, accessible and sustainable cricketing opportunities. The programme focuses on the personal impact and well-being of its participants and provides opportunities to have fun, compete and interact with new groups. The partnership is currently in its fourth year, and to date the Berkeley Foundation has committed over £850,000, alongside staff fundraising, leverage, and wider support.
