Tackling the disability unemployment crisis

Virgin Media and Scope

Virgin Media’s purpose is building connections that really matter, this sums up why the business exists and why we do what we do. Since 2015 Virgin Media has been building connections with, and for, disabled people through their strategic partnership with Scope.
Virgin Media and Scope are working together to transform the lives of disabled people with a clear ambition that drives significant social impact. As a business and brand that puts purpose and people at the heart of everything it does, Virgin Media recognised it was well-placed to support Scope towards one of their key strategic goals and tackle a significant issue facing disabled people today, employment and financial security.
Since 2018 Virgin Media and Scope have together supported over 541,552 disabled people with the skills and confidence to get into and stay in work through Support to Work, a flagship digital employment service offering personalised, online and telephone support for disabled people, who are looking for work.
In 2019 the partnership launched #WorkWithMe, a business-to-business community supporting members to become disability inclusive through collaboration, co-creation and peer support. This is a joint programme managed by a cross organisational team delivering events, support and resources to the community.
