The Yorkshire Building Society Corporate Responsibility programme is run by a dedicated team of eight experts, who focus on three key areas:
•Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation
•Charity partnership(Marie Curie)
As well as managing these community programmes, the team has developed the Group’s first ever integrated Corporate Responsibility strategy, focusing on People, Customers, Community and Environment, which will be launched in March 2017.
Over the past three years, they have undertaken a full review of our community programmes ensuring they are best placed to help us achieve the Society's vision and has resulted in several key achievements:
• Significant increase in colleagues’ participation in the Society's corporate volunteering programme from 25% in 2014 to over 64% in 2016.
• Increase in the number of volunteering hours from 10,000 to 26,000 in the same time period.
• Through a 2.5 year partnership with Marie Curie over £1.15 million raised, double our target, funding more than 57,500 hours of nursing care for terminally ill people.
• Over £7 million donated by Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation through over 23,000 donations to local charities since 1999.
