Societe Generale chose Mind as its Charity of the Year partner for 2015-2017. Together, they have raised over £700,000 to support the ‘Advice to Action’ campaign, helping people with mental health problems to get back on track. This campaign has enabled Mind to answer almost 40,000 queries to their helpline, providing advice and information so that people can choose the support that feels right for them. It has funded 21 projects for people with mental health problems to get support, build confidence and find employment in their communities.
Over the course of the partnership Societe Generale raised funds through a series of flagship events including a 26.2 mile overnight walking marathon which raised £94,000, and colleague-led fundraising events ranging from bake sales and sweepstakes to film nights and themed lunches.
Almost one in three workers have experienced mental health problems in the workplace, with the cost to employers estimated at £26 billion each year. While partnered with Mind, Societe Generale has taken this opportunity to focus on colleague wellbeing. This legacy will far outlive the partnership; the change in culture, executive level sponsorship, and a clear set of objectives, ensures that workplace wellbeing will remain a top priority for Societe Generale.
