In 2016 Age UK, Barnardo's and Santander joined forces for three years to help some of the most marginalised people in our communities. Breaking new ground, it was the first time these organisations united; with the objective to improve vulnerable people's lives - at both ends of the age scale.
Developing year-on-year our sustained, collaborative approach saw the partnership surpass all expectations. In 2018 our partnership achieved £3.2 million in fundraising - a best-ever for Santander. We engaged record numbers of Santander employees, and the business became the largest volunteering partner for both charities, with over 10,000 hours of time donated.
Our partnership became so much more than a 'Charity of the Year', shaping campaigns to protect customers and trialling new community-based work.
At its heart are the thousands of people we've helped. We believe no one should go through life alone, no matter their age. Together, we've supported over 57,000 vulnerable people with nowhere else to turn, and that's a legacy we're proud of.
