In December 2018, Missing People and Deliveroo launched a campaign to reunite missing people with their loved ones at Christmas. This partnership also aimed to increase awareness and understanding of the issue of missing and the support services available. Missing People is the UK's only dedicated national charity offering a lifeline to the estimated one million people affected by a disappearance every year.
The Ride to Find campaign transformed the delivery bags of Deliveroo riders into mobile billboards publicising appeals for missing people across London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol. These live appeals were seen by an estimated 10 million people as riders delivered customers their food.
The campaign caught the imagination of both the public and media outlets with over 557 pieces of coverage including TV, Radio and 49 hits in national publications achieving a total reach of over 238 million.
The impact of the Ride to Find campaign included a 2000% increase in traffic on Missing People's Child Rescue Alert page and a 171% uplift in traffic to the featured appeals. Most importantly of the 17 appeals that were featured from the pre-launch to the end of December, 5 people were found over the course of the campaign.
