Pedometer Challenge 2017

ISS UK and The Prince's Trust

The ISS UK Pedometer Challenge is our most successful annual fundraising event, supporting our partnership with The Prince’s Trust raising over £30,000. In 2017 630 employees virtually walked 800 miles from Vienna to Bucharest raising over £10,000 to support our bespoke employability programmes delivered with The Prince’s Trust. “I loved taking part in the pedometer challenge. We shared ideas and spurred each other on…no one wanted to let the team down and we ended up placing in the top ten despite us all having office jobs. It’s such a great way to get everyone active and working towards a common goal.” Anna Fowler, Operational Excellence Business Development Manager and 2017 ‘Waste Walkers’ team member. Open to all 44,000 employees the challenge promotes teamwork, leadership, health, wellbeing and the opportunity to support our corporate charity partnership. One of the outcomes of our partnership with The Prince’s Trust is the delivery of Get Into Facilities Management programmes, opening up the world of FM to young people by providing hands on experience and improving their employability skills. We have 44 people from the programmes employed with us. Without the pedometer challenge we would not have achieved this.
