Over the course of 2019, national homebuilder Miller Homes continued its successful partnership with Habitat for Humanity GB (HfHGB) to help provide a safe, decent place to call home for some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
Almost £120,000 was raised by Miller Homes for HfHGB during 2019, bringing the total raised since the partnership began in 2016 to more than £500,000. Raising money has been an important aspect; however Miller Homes support for the charity has been about much more than that. It has been heavily focused on putting the team’s support into action by using their skills, experience, resources and enthusiasm to make a real difference to some of those who need it most.
Following two Habitat for Humanity Global Village Trips led by Miller Homes in 2019, six new ‘Habitat homes’ were built for families comprising orphans and vulnerable children in the district of Salima, Malawi. The first trip comprised a team of Miller Homes staff volunteers from across all areas of the business and the other included both staff and some of the homebuilder’s key partners, which was the first trip of its kind led by a homebuilder.
