Lloyds Bank and Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support believes that every person affected by cancer should get the support they need to cope with the financial impact of their diagnosis. The reality is that four in five people are, on average, £570 worse off because of cancer. In 2016, Lloyds Bank committed to working with Macmillan to develop a new, dedicated Cancer Support Service which provides specialist advice for customers affected by cancer. To promote the service Lloyds Bank launched an integrated, multi-channel brand campaign ‘By Your Side’, featuring Macmillan and the Cancer Support Service. The campaign displayed on TV, Radio and Digital, focused on raising awareness of the financial impact of cancer and the bespoke service available to Lloyds Bank’s customers. The campaign had an unprecedented impact on the number of customers seeking support, with a 250% increase in calls to the service and a 900% increase in referrals between the organisations. Public awareness of the partnership between Lloyds Bank and Macmillan has increased by 11% as a result of the campaign, and Lloyds Bank is now also one of the most well-known partners of Macmillan.
