Lifesaving Journeys 2019

easyjet, Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cancer UK

Over a million people in the UK live with either prostate cancer or breast cancer, both of which can be utterly devastating, not just for the person diagnosed, but for their friends and families too. Both causes are particularly close to the hearts of easyJet’s cabin crew who have had personal experiences of these diseases.
In response to this, easyJet created the Life-Saving Journeys campaign with Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now to give easyJet colleagues the opportunity to help fund ground-breaking research and raise awareness of prostate and breast cancer, which are the most common cancers in men and women.
easyJet cabin crews took part in the campaign by promoting inflight collections across easyJet's UK-based aircraft. Passengers were encouraged to donate any loose change and foreign currencies and had the opportunity to listen to information about both charities in easyJet’s in-flight messaging. easyJet colleagues also took part in fundraising at their own bases and raised awareness of both charities’ work and the risks of prostate and breast cancer.
easyJet have raised more than £875,000 which was split equally between Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now; and in 2019 alone raised £436,920.
