Professional services firm EY and independent charity The EY Foundation have jointly nominated Laura Parker-Tong for the Outstanding Employee award. The EY Foundation was launched three-years ago with a clear aim to provide excluded young people with the skills, training and work experience necessary to succeed. As an organisation, it is very much in its infancy but the impact it has already made on the lives of a significant number of young people is testament to the hard work of amazing volunteers like Laura. Laura applied to volunteer with the EY Foundation in her first week at EY. She’s mentored young people, supported workshops for entrepreneurs and become a founding member of the charity’s youth panel. Her greatest achievement to date (there’s been many!) has been Charing the steering committee to set up a National Youth Panel, which brought together employers, young people and the public sector. Alongside the numerous hours Laura has dedicated to charity she has successfully gained her accountancy qualification (passing all exams first time) and this year received the highest end of year rating amongst her peers.
Laura is an amazing advocate for EY, the EY Foundation and most importantly young people across the UK.
