Parenting in the digital age is becoming increasingly challenging for many families in the UK. At a time when one in three children have experienced cyberbullying , it’s all the more important that parents equip young people with the skills they need to stay safe online. That’s why in 2009 Vodafone’s CSR team launched Digital Parenting Magazine, an annual print publication and website aimed at parents, carers and teachers. A cursory online search reveals a plethora of advice and guidance available to this audience. The magazine was created to bring key information into one unified place. A free-of-charge physical magazine was specifically identified as a means to reach as many people as possible, via schools and other organisations, who could help to disseminate the publication. With charitable support from The Vodafone Foundation, and working in partnership with Parent Zone, the online safety experts, this critical resource has been created to provide essential guidance on helping young people to navigate the online world. Today, Digital Parenting Magazine has a print circulation of over 1million, and our website welcomes about 4,500 visitors a month.
