"The technology revolution has created a skills shortage in the UK. However, Deloitte is helping to close the gap by supporting the next generation of tech talent.
We are a founding partner of Ada, the National College for Digital Skills based in London. Launched in 2016, it's England's first new Further Education College since 1993.
Ada is more than a great idea; it's a charity and social enabler. The aim is for half of students to be women and half to come from low-income backgrounds. This ethos mirrors our thinking and 53 of our own apprentices study there.
Our work with Ada supports our One Million Futures social impact strategy, which is changing lives by improving access to education and employment. We've helped the college forge stronger links with industry, develop a five-year growth plan, target investment, scale its offering and reach the highest teaching standards. Recently, Ada achieved an impressive 'good with outstanding features' rating in its first Ofsted report.
During the last financial year, we gave Ada £100,000 plus £60,000 in pro-bono support and volunteer time. We're proud that this investment has helped to impact 492 futures and create an environment where tomorrow's digital leaders can thrive."
